Il Proton AMS-2583 è un ampli-decoder Dolby AC-3, Dolby ProLogic e DTS. L'AMS-2583 dispone inoltre di compressione di dinamica per un audio comprensibile anche a bassi livelli d'ascolto. La qualità musicale, fiore all'occhiello di quest'apparecchio, è nella migliore tradizione Proton.
